Important School Information & Updates

Reminder about Morning Drop Off: As a reminder, live drop off begins at 8:45. If you arrive before 8:43, please park in the upper lot and walk your student to the door. If you are the first person in the live drop off line, please pull all the way up to the end of the sidewalk. We appreciate your help with this to avoid a back up onto the street.

Walk to School Wednesdays: Stall Brook School will once again take part in Walk to School Wednesdays in October. Families meet us at St. Brendan's Church parking lot by 8:00am and we walk together as a school community along the pre-planned route, escorted by our BPD. Students must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the walk. The walks will be held on October 7, October 14, and October 21.

PTO Updates

  • 🎃 Let’s bring back the Stall Brook Pumpkin Stroll! There was so much excitement at our PTO meeting about reviving this beloved tradition! Our kindergarten classes are even adapting their Pumpkin Discovery activity to contribute pumpkins and now we need our community’s help! 💙 Paint, carve, or decorate a pumpkin to help fill our halls! Invite grandparents, relatives, and friends to contribute, too. We also need volunteers to make the magic happen! By October 9 we will have to make the decision to move forward with planning or to completely cancel this event. We need pumpkin donations, along with volunteer sign-ups to move forward. After two years without enough pumpkins and helping hands, let’s work together to bring this tradition back!🎃 Sign up to donate pumpkins or volunteer here: Pumpkin Stroll Sign Ups
  • 👕Our Grade Color Fundraiser is open! Your child should have brought home a paper form in their folder but you can also make your purchases here: Grade Level Shirts Order Here The grade color shirts will be used on days like the fun run and field day among others, and of course can also be used for our monthly whole school assemblies or any other day the student wants to wear it! Show your school spirit and buy yours today!
  • 💰For those that don’t know, Stall Brook PTO partners with Dean Bank to hold an activity on the first Monday of each month where your child can deposit money into their own bank account, which is a great way for kids to understand the concept of money and the importance of being able to save and have their own responsibilities. Kids can bring any amount of money they have, as little as $1 is enough to participate, and they get a small reward afterwards which makes it a very fun time with friends. Our first Dean Banking will be TOMORROW,  October 5th!
  • 📸SAVE YOUR SPOT! On November 14th and 15th we will be having Holiday Mini sessions which are now open for sign ups! 60% of the proceeds go to Stallbrook Elementary PTO which helps fund all the fun and necessary activities we have for our students! PETS WELCOME! Holiday Photo Sign Up
  • 🥧Get your Cookie/Pie Orders in by 10/13! Goods will be delivered by Thanksgiving and are the perfect treat to bring to your holiday gathering no matter what you are celebrating, who doesn’t love a yummy pie !!
  • 🥉ATTENTION 3rd Grade Families! 3rd Grade parents have started to put together a parent/caregiver committee to help with special events, fundraising, and the yearbook! Nina Dillon is heading the committee, so please reach out to her for more info if you’d like to be involved! They have already had their first meeting and will be having a second one in the coming weeks. Let's help make this a special year for our 3rd graders! ❤️

Weekend Backpack Program

  • We are taking Grade Color T-Shirt donations from past years that you don’t plan to keep using so the kids in the Backpack Program can use them. Just send them to school with your child in a bag marked PTO or Backpack Program and Nurse Jean will help us deliver the shirts to the students who need them.
  • Another way you can help our program is through our Amazon Wish List. Please consider involving your child in this process so they understand the importance of helping others! And if you would like your family to have a shout out in our newsletter feel free to leave a note with your donations with the students name! (Please do not mark the actual food).
  • This week we want to say a special thank you to Nicole Andrews and her family for their generous donations.
If your family could benefit from this program please fill this form. It is anonymous (only Nurse Jean will know), and there’s no requirements to join.

From the Health Office

Medication Reminder for all parent/guardians.  It is very important to understand the information listed below.  No medication should be sent in with a child to school. All medication must be brought into the health office by an adult.

Bellingham Public Schools medication policy,  mandated by M.G.L. Chapter 71 Section 54B and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health 105 CMR, 210.001 is followed to ensure the health and safety of all students.  “Regulations Governing the Administration of Prescription Medications in Public and Private Schools'' states that prescription medication is not to be dispensed without a written order from a licensed physician as described in 105 CMR 210.002 and written parent/guardian consent. All medications, prescriptions, and over-the-counter medications require a physician’s order and parent/guardian consent form. If both forms are not received then the medication can not be given by the school nurse. The only exception is the Bellingham Schools Standing Order medications.
1. A written order from a licensed prescriber is required for all prescription medication.  All written orders must include:
  1. Student’s legal name, date of birth, diagnosis
  2. Name of the medication
  3. Dose to be administered
  4. Route of administration
  5. Time of administration
2.  Medication that is required to be administered for ten (10) days or less, the pharmacy-labeled container may serve as the doctor’s order.  A parental authorization form must be completed by the parent/guardian before the medication can be administered.
3.  All medication must be brought to the school nurse by a parent/guardian.  No student will be allowed to bring any medication with them to school.  This safety policy is to protect all children while at school and on the way to school.

Your child should always take the first dose of a new medication at home.  A parent/guardian should monitor their child for any signs of allergic reactions or side effects.  The parent/guardian knows their child the best. Thank you for your understanding in this very important matter.
