Updates & Important Information from Mrs. Crawford & Mr. Perkins

September 13, 2026

Last Week at Stall Brook...

*We had our first Whole School Meeting and it was FANTASTIC! We sang our school song, engaged in a movement break, learned about our core values, the Golden Horseshoe award, Caught in the Act awards, and our school theme: TOGETHER WE CAN: BELONG, BELIEVE, ACHIEVE. The students were engaged, following expectations, and brought such positive energy to the assembly!

*What an AMAZING turnout we had for the Ice Cream Social on Friday night! Community events like these would not be possible without the support of many different people and organizations. A big THANK YOU to:

Our PTO board and volunteers for organizing and running the event
Our Stall Brook staff for donating the raffle prizes and volunteering their time to scoop and prepare sundaes
Our custodial staff for helping to set up and break down for the event
Our generous families who donated toppings and needed items
Bellingham Pack 118 scouts who volunteered their time
Our central office admin, Dr. Marano & Mrs. Barca, and School Committee members Mr. Reed and Mrs. Altomonte, for coming to support and volunteer
North Pole Ice Cream for their generous donation of the ice cream

*Congratulations to Mrs. A's Third Grade Class and Ms. Winslow's Second Grade Class. They earned Golden Horseshoe awards last week!

*Our students in Grades 1-3 engaged in the i-Ready Math BoY assessment.

Important School Information & Updates

Infinite Campus vs. Parent Square Clarification: With the implementation of two new platforms this year, it has led to some confusion about the functions of each.

Infinite Campus is our Student Information System, which is the platform used for attendance, grades AND it is also our communication system. (This replaced Blackboard Connect that was used in previous years.) All mass emails sent to families are sent via Infinite Campus.
Parent Square is the platform used for our website. All newsletters are created and posted to our website.
In order to ensure that all families see the newsletter each week, I copy the link for the newsletter that is posted to the website and send it out through Infinite Campus. You do not need a Parent Square account in order to view the newsletters. In the event that you are unable to view the newsletter through the link I sent or on our website, please reach out to me, as it could be an error on my part in the settings.

School Photos: We have two dates for school photos this year. Please look carefully at which grades will be taking photos on each day:

Tuesday, 9/15 - Grades K, 2, 3, & PreK (4day & T/Fri.)
Monday, 9/28 - Grade 1 & M/Th PreK

Meet the Teacher Night: On Wednesday, 9/16, Stall Brook School will host Meet the Teacher Night. This is a time for adults only to come to school and meet your child's teacher and learn about curriculum and the classroom. An email was sent home last week with more detailed information.Please see the times below:

PreK & K families- 6:00pm-6:45pm
Grades 1-3 families - 6:55pm-7:45pm

Website: We have a new website this year and we will be working hard to keep it up to date. Please bookmark the website so you can access it easily to find important information.

District Information

Stall Brook School would like to thank Imperial Cars for their generous donation of school supplies for our students and staff!

PTO Updates

🍦 WOW, Stall Brook Families, WHAT A NIGHT! 🍦 Our Ice Cream Social was an absolute HUGE success and we are still smiling from ear to ear! Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us, this is exactly what our Stall Brook community is all about!

A VERY special shout out to North Pole Ice Cream for so generously sponsoring and donating all of the ice cream, cups, and spoons. We could not have done this without you!
Our incredible Stall Brook teachers and staff donated every raffle item and showed up to volunteer, visit with students, and support our community.
And of course! No ice cream sundae is complete without toppings, so a big thank you to our families!
The school committee, administration, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts all helped make the evening such a fun and supported community event. Our parent volunteers gave their time, hard work and dedication all night long to help us pull this off! Thank you!
And to all the families who came out to support our school, thank you for building this community with us!

Picture Day is coming!

Please note that the paperwork sent home has the wrong date for first grade, the correct dates are:

Tuesday, 9/15 - Grades K, 2, 3, & PreK (4day & T/Fri.)

Monday, 9/28 - Grade 1 & M/Th PreK

Make up date is: Tuesday, 11/17 for any kids who missed their date or want to retake their picture.

📸ALL students, with or without a photo purchase, will receive a physical copy of the class picture for free📸

ATTENTION 3rd Grade Families!

We’re looking forward to a fun year for our 3rd graders and are hoping to put together a parent/caregiver committee to help with special events, fundraising, and the yearbook! A special thanks to Nina Dillon who volunteered to head the committee and get the ball rolling!

Weekend Backpack Program

Thank you to everyone who has donated, we truly couldn’t run this program without you!

This week we want to give a special thank you to all the families who donated to the ice cream social, not only were we able to invite free of cost our Backpack Program families, but any sealed toppings leftovers will be used for the birthday bags every student in the program gets.
If you want to help our program we have donation bins at every entry in our schools where students can leave food or you can access our Amazon Wish List. Please consider involving your child in this process so they understand the importance of helping others! And if you would like your family to have a shout out in our newsletter feel free to leave a note with your donations with the students name! (Please do not mark the actual food).

If your family could benefit from this program please fill this form. It is anonymous (only Nurse Jean will know), and there’s no requirements to join.

📣 Upcoming Vision & Hearing Screenings – Important Information for Families

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As part of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health requirements for school health services, our school will be conducting annual vision and hearing screenings for all students in Grades K–3. These screenings help identify potential concerns that may affect your child’s learning, development, and overall well‑being. Please ensure that your child has their glasses with them if they normally wear them for school.

🩺 What to Expect

Vision screenings will be completed for all students in Grades K–3.
Hearing screenings will be completed for all students in Grades K–3.
Grade 1 students will also have their height and weight recorded for BMI readings.
Screenings will take place during the school day, screening will be starting the last week of September.

If your child does not pass a portion of the screening, I will contact you directly with follow‑up recommendations.

🚫 Opt-Out Option

If you prefer that your child not participate in the vision and/or hearing screening, please contact me before screenings begin so I can document your decision.

Literacy Updates

Reading Challenge Update:

Click here for the link to the yearlong challenge, it’s never too late to start.
If you have completed book forms for June, July or August please return those to school.
The September Challenge theme is to read a book about school or set at school.

Math Updates

If students have completed the Summer Math assignments, please return them to school.
